Jay Ponton has been an active real estate licensee for 22 years. Since 1996, Jay’s annual production has placed him in the top 2% of all licensed agents in the United States, according to the National Association of REALTORS. Sales volume for 2009 exceeded 6 million dollars. Jay’s real estate career started with Dot Wright Realty, in Hampton, VA, in 1988, which merged with Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., the largest independently owned real estate firm in the United States, in 1990. That same year, Jay was awarded Long & Foster’s Rookie of the Year status for the Southern Virginia region. From 1991 until 1997, Jay represented and led sales and marketing efforts for Andrew Fine, at Hideaway Bay, Earle Williams, at the Carriage Homes of Woodcreek, Herb Aman, at Tradewinds of Kiln Creek, Dan Hoffler, at Salt Ponds on the Bay, and Hatcher Cale, at Hunter’s Glen. Since 1997, Jay has represented Anheuser Busch/InBev in the marketing of Kingsmill on the James, through Kingsmill Realty, Inc. and Busch Properties, Inc. Throughout his career, Jay has annually maintained award-winning levels of production in both the New Homes and Re-Sale Homes fields and served on various committees for the Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtors and the Williamsburg Area Association of Realtors. Jay attained his Broker’s License in 2002 and has trained and served as a Certified Ethics Instructor for the Virginia Association of Realtors. Jay’s family has had long-standing real estate ties to the Virginia Peninsula since the late 1800’s.
